Reflection on Winter Clothing Drive!
My winter clothing drive did not go as drive did not go as well as I planned, many people did not know of its existance. If I were to try it again I would have advertised it and gotten more people to tell people about it. Oh well atleast I tried. I'll learn from my mistakes on this project and use that for my next project. I've already put up posters and talked to some people about it I expect for it to be a better project.

Propsal for Lead Project #2
This project is going to be called the “Origami Experience” it is going introduce the students of Aviation High School to the joy of origami. The students at Aviation High are often stressed out and they need ways to calm down. Students will experience the relaxing experience of origami and may be even take an interest in it. It will occur on December 7th in Mrs. Wilson’s room during club time, everyone will be invited, you could bring your friends or come alone.
At times school, especially Aviation High School can be stressful, students who are stressed out are not healthy. We need our students at Aviation High to be relaxed and ready to learn, not strung out on the stresses about how late they are going to be up studying for some test they are going to have next week! At our school we do try to do things that will help lower the stresses of our students like pep assemblies, spirit weeks and clubs. They are great, but that alone is not enough to assuage the stresses of the students. My project will supplement this need for our students to be more relaxed. What is more relaxing than origami; a calming paper folding artistic experience.
The expected outcome of this project is to create a relaxed feel and calm the students down. The dates that this is expected to happen is on December 2nd during club time in the origami club in Mrs. Wilson’s room.
Everyone who is willing to take part of this project will come to Mrs. Wilson’s room during club time on December 7th Thursday. During the club time we will create a enjoyable calming atmosphere where one can feel relaxed and forget about the stresses that they are dealing with. People can work together in groups to create something, or alone to create something. Some people choose to relax alone
some decide to relax with others.
To know that this project is successful you would see students leaving the club time with a much more relaxed feeling. In order to know this there shall be a survey on how it was that is passed out at the end of club time. Then I will read them and write my reflection based on how the surveys responded.
The project will be very simple, we will be just working in Mrs. Wilson’s room, with paper and scissors. There is currently no helpers with this project other than the club supervisor Mrs. Wilson. She is an asset for the project because she is providing her class room. I am leading this project because I feel that origami club has the ability to calm down the students at Aviation High. I think that I have a calmed attitude about school, that could help the students .
This project should only take 45 minutes on December 7th at 12:35pm at Mrs. Wilsons room.
The Budget for this project is really low, we already have the origami books that students will need to instruct them and we may need more paper for the students to fold with, but I’m pretty sure that will be cheap and low budget.
This project will be worth while because it will help the health of the students and calm them down. The students at Aviation High need to know ways to calm down and relax when they are under such stresses.

Blog post #5
The current situation for my project is still in the works of building a box and getting stuff approved. I need to still build a box, and since I have some helpers now Drew and Jared so the project should move a lot more smoother.
The current situation for the project that I am helping Jared with, the junior get together at sky high is finding out how many people would actually go to the event and from there we can decide which would be the best and cheapest way to achieve maximum funness.

The projects that I am currently leading is the warm coat drive and the other project that I plan on leading is still in the thinking phase, but I do have an idea, I was thinking of maybe selling wristbands with the schools name on them. Jared S. and Drew H. are helping me on my coat drive and possiblely my wristband sale.
I am planning to help Jared S. on his Junior get together project. I need to find two other projects to help people with.

Driving forces and barriers
Driving forces
· Me
· Building Aviations repuation
·
· Giving warm clothes to the needy.
· Getting rid of wasted space in closets.
· Making people feel better about themselves.
· Making the world a “warmer” place.
· Students.
· Mentor for project. (Ms. Fitz)
Barriers
· Time to work on this project and make it good.
· Motivating people to go find clothes that they don't need anymore to donate.
· Finding the best place to donate.
· Finding a way to transport the donations to the donation place
· Building a donation box
· Getting the people to donate the right clothes
· Appropriate care for the donations.
· Spreading the message about the event.
· Communication people who have the power get the message out.
· Getting other people to see the results.
Top three barriers to change
- Time to work on this project and make it good.
- Finding the best place to donate.
- Building a donation box.
What I am going to do to prevent time from hurting my project, is set aside time after school to work on what ever the project requires. The only step that can be taken to stop this is by spending 30mins everyday after school at home uninterrupted and undistracted on this project.
Finding the best place to donate the donations that we will be recieving will be easy to work on, all I need to do is research some more.
What I am going to do to help prevent this from becoming a barrier is find the proper place to donate the clothing, may be as the asb because in the past they have did similar things like this.
Building a box is a barrier that I can controll and improve on because its simple.
What I will do to prevent this barrier from being a problem is find a big cardboard box and decorate it.

Today in Leadership...
Today in leadership class I researched some different organizations where we could donate the clothes to once we get them. I have came to the question of where do we want to donate these clothes to? do we want them to go to a place like Value Village where they will be resold, or do we want to donate them to a charity. I am still searching for a charity because all the places I found are greedy and trying to make a profit from our kind gestures.
Warm Clothing Drive
For my first project in leadership I am going to be doing a warm clothes clothes drive for the start of winter. The projected start date is November 8th and will end at on November 28th. There wont be many milestones for this project because it is made to be very simple. November 8th is when bins will be placed outside of the office and on every Friday the clothes will be moved to safe keeping until the drive is over and it is delivered to the charitable organization. My mentor for this project will be Mrs. Fitz.
My vision of this project is for it to be very simple. My plans for this project is to make giant box and decorate it with a winter theme and place it in the hallway by the office where people can deposit their warm lightly used clothing. Some of the challenges that I see happening with this project is apathy. I have to find a way to make people go into their closets and find those warm clothes that people that arent so fortunate need!
