Student discussion group reflection
The Student reflection went amazingly Students discussed dress code and school spirit. I was please my expectations were met. facebook student discussion group. If I were to do it again I'd advertise the group more and maybe bring up more topics like the change in schedule next year with the removal of AP Chemistry.

Senior good bye poster reflection
I helped with Johns project on making good bye posters for the seniors :) It was fun and I really hope they enjoy my sarcastic "go away" poster. If we could have did this again I would have used more time to make it into a bigger more colorful poster!

Mile stone 1 and 2 and 3 reflection
I created the Facebook student discussion group and invited some people that I knew in the school. I posted a topic on dress code asking what people think about it. One student said that we really shouldnt complain about it since as soon as we try to change it the teachers will start trying to enforce the dress code a lot harder than they were before. Another expressed that our school has a dress code but colleges dont even have dress codes. So far this discusson group is comming along pretty well. I just need more people.
Student Disscussion Group Proposal
What is your plan for the project and what do you expect to see?
The project I have is to create a student discussion group on facebook where students can express their opinions about things occuring in school and other topics about school in general.
What are some problems that you may have?
Some problems that I may have is student praticipation and getting the word out about it. Since it is a Facebook group you only really are limited to inviting the people that you have as friends.
How are you going to be sure to achieve your milestone goals?
I am going to be sure to achieve my goals by pressuring people to join by posting topics that people can't resist to state their opinion about, like dress code debates and school spirit.
What materials do you need?
I do not need anything that I dont have already.
What other things besides materials are you going to need?
I will need time and people to discuss with.
How many people will I need?
I will not be needing anyone else besides myself to help me.
What are my plans to hold my group accountable for the success of my project?
I plan just to do everything all by myself,so if I dont then I guess I fail.
Milestones
June 14: make group
June 14: invite people to the group
June 14: hold disscussion about issues at school
June 14: Reflect

Help project reflection Basket ball Court
Olivia Gabby and me, repainted the basket ball court on june 9th. It went really well. We spent two hours working in the direct sunlight painting the thing. The thing that went well was that it was actually kind of fun, and would for sure do something similar to it again if I could. The only problem was that we were sort of short on supplies and should have collaborated on materials we needed to bring. We had only two paint brushes and three people if i knew that there was only going to be two brushes I would have brought my own from home. One problem that we did have was that we needed to fire a helper for his careless actions, he spilled the paint and created this huge dot of paint, so we made due with what we were given and turned it into a "hot spot" making it look as if we intended for it to be there.

Spring Egg hunt Reflection milestone reach
A kid looking for eggs
A eagle must of lay an egg in this tree, America YEAH!!!
This was one of the first ones found.
Can you see the three eggs?
A kid with an egg that he found
A kid that found 2 eggs and was discussing his finds with his friends.
The Egg hunt took place April 29th 2011 during lunch. Me and my helpers, Martiza, Chanel, Andrew, Jon and Gabby Got out of class 10 mins before lunch and hid around 200 eggs all over the campus. When students were excused for lunch we saw many of the lower grades go running to find eggs. Within a matter of minutes many of the eggs in plain sight were gone. It met all my expectations.
The Egg hunt was a success and went exactly how I planned. If I were to do this again I'd try to put more incentive for people to go egg hunting. Also I found that there should have been a better plan on where to hide the eggs. We should have divided the campus up so that there wouldn't be a large concentration of eggs in plain view. We could have possibly got someone to make necklaces or little buttons that we could have put in our eggs that were AHS themed so people would feel like they were actually getting something that would help them remember high school.

Mile stone 2
Today the Eggs came in took some pictures of them and worked on the signs and got some more helpers for the egg team. I think it worked because people were very excited to help with my project because of its appealing idea. My project is going pretty well.
Milestone 1
I met my first milestone of getting approval by the ASB for the funding. I think I was successful because of how fun the idea sounded.
Spring Egg Hunt Project Proposal.
Gavin Zahm presents you the awesome project that is....
What is your plan for the project and what do you expect to see?
The project I have planned to take place on the 29th of april 2011 is a Spring egg hunt during lunch at school. The egg hunt is expected to be a school spirit building surprise for students. Students will come out of their classrooms off to lunch to the sight of plastic eggs filled with surprises in them making them a little more excited about going to school and possibly make some new friends.
What are some problems that you may have?
Since I got approval by Mr. Mccomb and funding by the ASB, two very important steps taken, there isn't many major challenges that I may face, but some I still may face are the weather, getting the word out and possibly students not wanting to participate and possibly my helpers not being able to get out of class early to help with the egg hunt.
How are you going to be sure to achieve your milestone goals?
I will meet my milestone dates by making sure that I force my helpers to help me with meeting the quota on posters.
What materials do you need?
I already have the materials due to ASB's generosity, no others will be needed.
What other things besides materials are you going to need?
I need helpers or else there is no way I will be able to hide all the eggs or put all of the surprises into them in time before the deadline.
How many people will I need?
Well I currently have two teams of people, One is volenteers to help pack and hide the eggs, the other is the group helping me with posters and posting them.
Eggs: Drew, Andrew, Maritza and Chanel
Posters: Molly and John
What are my plans to hold my group accountable for the success of my project?
My plan is make my group be excited for the project as much the people that are participating in the egg hunt which will in the end make them feel obligated to make this project a success.
Spring Egg Hunt
Time table
April 22: ask ASB funds, CHECK!
April 24: receive eggs and work on posters, CHECK!
April 25: Place surprises in eggs and post posters
April 28: Harmonize group of helpers, make sure every one knows the protocol for the next day
April 29: Get out of class 15 mins early to hide eggs with Egg hiding group. Write a reflection.

Finaly finished 3rd help project
For my third project that I helped with was Molly's clothing drive. I helped paint posters for the drive. I learned that in order to have a successful project you need to have a eye catching poster. Bright colors contrasted on dark paper is very eye catching. Next time I would paint a little bit more carefully because I messed up and some of the letters look a little deformed. The pros of my help was that the project was able to get started a lot quicker, two painters are better than one. The cons are that my work is not always as clean and organized as Molly's so if she did it by herself the poster probably would have looked a little bit neater, but time is money.

Reflection on 2nd helping project Nicks Signs
I helped Nick with his project where he made motivational feel good spirit posters that he posted around the school. The posters really made walking down the hall a more enjoyable experience. I learned that a simple short project that only took one class period could do so much and lighten up someones day or make them laugh. If we were to do this again I would make the posters a little bit higher quality, but that would have taken more time.
Reflection on Origami Experience
The Origami Experience project was a success. People showed up and they all listened to instructions and we worked together to make a unit origami sculptor. The project did not get finished due to lack of time but the club will finish it next week. Next time I would of made a desicion on what we wanted to do exactly before all the people showed up. I knew we wanted to do origiami but I wasent sure if they wanted to work together, good thing we all did in the end. Some of the cons of the project was that there wasent enough people to help all the people that needed help, we should have got a couple of experienced people. I took pictures and I will upload them as soon as I get home.

Reflection on 1st project I helped with "AHS dance off"
I helped Emily Chung and Jared sharp with their dance off project. I helped make the posters and informed people about it. The project was more successful than we thought it would be, everyone that signed up showed up and danced. I learned that proper advertising is key to success. The pros of it was that it was successful but the cons are that there was no gain off of it, no money was raised that could have been, but then again that could have discouraged people from praticipating.

Reflection on Winter Clothing Drive!
My winter clothing drive did not go as drive did not go as well as I planned, many people did not know of its existance. If I were to try it again I would have advertised it and gotten more people to tell people about it. Oh well atleast I tried. I'll learn from my mistakes on this project and use that for my next project. I've already put up posters and talked to some people about it I expect for it to be a better project.

Propsal for Lead Project #2
This project is going to be called the “Origami Experience” it is going introduce the students of Aviation High School to the joy of origami. The students at Aviation High are often stressed out and they need ways to calm down. Students will experience the relaxing experience of origami and may be even take an interest in it. It will occur on December 7th in Mrs. Wilson’s room during club time, everyone will be invited, you could bring your friends or come alone.
At times school, especially Aviation High School can be stressful, students who are stressed out are not healthy. We need our students at Aviation High to be relaxed and ready to learn, not strung out on the stresses about how late they are going to be up studying for some test they are going to have next week! At our school we do try to do things that will help lower the stresses of our students like pep assemblies, spirit weeks and clubs. They are great, but that alone is not enough to assuage the stresses of the students. My project will supplement this need for our students to be more relaxed. What is more relaxing than origami; a calming paper folding artistic experience.
The expected outcome of this project is to create a relaxed feel and calm the students down. The dates that this is expected to happen is on December 2nd during club time in the origami club in Mrs. Wilson’s room.
Everyone who is willing to take part of this project will come to Mrs. Wilson’s room during club time on December 7th Thursday. During the club time we will create a enjoyable calming atmosphere where one can feel relaxed and forget about the stresses that they are dealing with. People can work together in groups to create something, or alone to create something. Some people choose to relax alone
some decide to relax with others.
To know that this project is successful you would see students leaving the club time with a much more relaxed feeling. In order to know this there shall be a survey on how it was that is passed out at the end of club time. Then I will read them and write my reflection based on how the surveys responded.
The project will be very simple, we will be just working in Mrs. Wilson’s room, with paper and scissors. There is currently no helpers with this project other than the club supervisor Mrs. Wilson. She is an asset for the project because she is providing her class room. I am leading this project because I feel that origami club has the ability to calm down the students at Aviation High. I think that I have a calmed attitude about school, that could help the students .
This project should only take 45 minutes on December 7th at 12:35pm at Mrs. Wilsons room.
The Budget for this project is really low, we already have the origami books that students will need to instruct them and we may need more paper for the students to fold with, but I’m pretty sure that will be cheap and low budget.
This project will be worth while because it will help the health of the students and calm them down. The students at Aviation High need to know ways to calm down and relax when they are under such stresses.

Blog post #5
The current situation for my project is still in the works of building a box and getting stuff approved. I need to still build a box, and since I have some helpers now Drew and Jared so the project should move a lot more smoother.
The current situation for the project that I am helping Jared with, the junior get together at sky high is finding out how many people would actually go to the event and from there we can decide which would be the best and cheapest way to achieve maximum funness.

Blog post #4
The projects that I am currently leading is the warm coat drive and the other project that I plan on leading is still in the thinking phase, but I do have an idea, I was thinking of maybe selling wristbands with the schools name on them. Jared S. and Drew H. are helping me on my coat drive and possiblely my wristband sale.
I am planning to help Jared S. on his Junior get together project. I need to find two other projects to help people with.
